More specifically, NOVELMITE objectives are to:

· Explore, identify and evaluate the Greek mite fauna for promising biological control agents among the native phytoseiid species against key arthropod pests of tomato.

· Understand the mechanisms involved in natural enemy adaptation to tomato defenses by employing state-of-the-art molecular techniques.

· Suggest, validate and propose efficient management tools to enhance the efficacy of promising phytoseiid predators against tomato pests in realistic conditions.
